I dream of a new, harmonious Bangladesh free from fear: Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus today spoke of dreaming of a new Bangladesh free from fear, where people would live in communal harmony.

"We are talking about communal harmony. We all agree that there is harmony among us. I would like to add one thing to harmony - that is fear. Along with harmony, we also have fear," he said in his closing remarks at a meeting with religious leaders of Bangladesh at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.

Stating that 'We are not citizens who are afraid of fear', the chief advisor said, 'We are fearless citizens. An environment will be created in which there is no fear among people.'

Regarding the rebirth of Bangladesh, he emphasized on building a Bangladesh where one citizen will not fear another.

Dr. Yunus advised all citizens to build a tolerant Bangladesh, free from anger and fear, without making structural changes, where no untoward incident will occur or, if it does occur, it can be resolved.

He said, "If we can build such a country, it will be a successful country. We are waiting for it. Allah has given us the opportunity to dream such a dream and move forward with it. We seek your cooperation in this regard and it is possible."

The chief advisor said, "The people of Bangladesh are living in peace, but if any incident happens, it can make the people angry. It should be defused. We must defuse the anger so that it does not cause another incident."

Dr. Yunus said that the people of the country have ousted a political force, but they are not sitting idle, rather they are inciting at home and abroad. Noting that the ousted group is inciting in a way that does not seem to be provocation at first glance, he requested everyone not to respond to these provocations.

Noting that provocations are also being created from outside the country, he said that people should learn how to deal with provocations so that they do not fall victim to them. Bangladesh is being repeatedly hit by provocations - not personally, but at the state level. The chief advisor stressed the need to deal with this.
