Donald Trump once again proposes that the United States should acquire Greenland, citing national security reasons.

 

This suggestion arises during his announcement of Ken Howery, co-founder of PayPal, as the new U.S. ambassador to Denmark. However, the Prime Minister of Greenland has firmly stated that the territory is not for sale.

In a separate matter, President Joe Biden has signed the National Defense Authorization Act, which allocates $895 billion for military and defense expenditures for the year 2025, despite expressing some reservations.

Additionally, American Airlines faced a temporary nationwide grounding of flights due to a technical malfunction, coinciding with the onset of the busy Christmas travel period. The Federal Aviation Administration implemented a national ground stop at the airline's request on Tuesday, which was lifted approximately one hour later.
